Marco Island can be described as a city located in Collier County, Florida, US. It’s, in fact, one of the islands on ‘Gulf of Mexico’ of coast of ‘Southwest Florida’. This place is amongst the principal cities of Naples-Marco Island Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The uniqueness of Marco Island lies in the fact that it’s the biggest barrier island inside Southwest Florida’s area of 1000 Islands which extends southerly towards Cape Sable. Climate can be mentioned as ‘subtropical’ with distinct dry and wet seasons. Majority of rainfall happens from June to October. Per capita income of the city as per 2000 census was $42875.
Around 10% of population was below poverty line. This was inclusive of 4.4% of people whose age was 65 and above. The population on the whole is around 15000. It gets almost doubled during the vacations. Population density as per the above-mentioned census was 943.5/sq. Km.
