Downtown Melbourne Redevelopment Area had been created in the year 1892. Since then, it has assisted revitalization of this historic ‘downtown’ district in a successful manner. Center all along ‘New Haven Avenue’, this district has been bordered by saltwater ‘Indian River Lagoon’ on the eastern side; and Crane Creek, a ‘freshwater tributary’ on the southern side.
