Vizcaya is a National Historic Landmark and also a museum which is owned by Miami-Dade County and is accredited by the American Association of Museums. This museum is open to the public 365 days a year. The museum was built in 1916 and has a main house, with ten acres of formal gardens, along with a hardwood hammock and soon to be restored historic village. Some of the events held in the museum are the Moonlight Garden Tour which is on March 11, 2009 from 1800 hours.
