Miami river
The Miami River drains out of the Everglades and flows through downtown Miami.
Its 5.5 mile (8.9 km) long and flows from the terminus of the Miami Canal at Miami International Airport to Biscayne Bay.
The river was inhabited by the Tequesta Indians before it was discovered.
The mouth of the river occupies the Port of Miami and several other businesses which have helped to improve the river's condition.
