Nokomis is a census designated place situated in Sarasota County in Florida. It is a part of the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Nokomis is popular place to visit for Casey Key, a barrier island created by the Intracoastal Waterway.

The population of the CDP was 3,334 people as per the 2000 census. In 2009, the population estimated to 3,496 people. And since 2000, Nokomis has had a population growth of 6.66 percent.

As per the US Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.0 square miles, out of which, 1.7 square miles is land and 0.3 square miles is water.

July is the warmest month having 91 degrees and January is the coldest month with 51 degrees. The elevation feet of the city are 10 feet above sea level.
