The Big “O” Birding, situated on the northern shore of Lake Okeechobee, is a favorite destination for bird watchers. The subtropical vegetation and the calmness of the Lake make it a good habitat for a wide variety of birds. Birds seen in the region include several endangered species like Limpkin, Snail Kite, Purple Gallinule, and others. There are several unseen species of birds in this region.
