Once upon a time, Palatka had been domain of ‘Timucuan’ nation; from which 2 tribes existed in ‘Palatka region’ under ‘Utina’ and ‘Saturiwa’ chiefs. They used to fish mullets and bass, or hunted opossum, bear, turkeys, and deer.
