Established in 1973, Parque Nacional Tablas de Daimiel is a nature reserve situated in south central part of Spain. It has gained international recognition as a wetland on the Ramsar Convention list. The European Union has designated this park as a Special Protection Area for birds. Moreover, this is the smallest of 14 national parks of Spain covering an area of 19.28 square kilometers.
