Tourist Guide Pensacola

The city of Pensacola is situated in Escambia County in Florida, USA. Spread over an area of 102.7 sq km, the port city is located on the Pensacola Bay and has a population of around 56,000.

Pensacola has a moderate subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The average summer temperature is around 27°C while the average winter temperature is around 12°C. Thunderstorms are witnessed regularly in summer.

The city has had a turbulent past. It has been ruled by five different powers and has thus been nicknamed ‘The City of Five Flags’. The city has been destroyed several times by war and hurricanes.

Pensacola is a port of entry with a natural harbour and a number of shipping and fishing industries. Home to the Gulf Islands National Seashore, the city offers some of the best water-based activities in the area.
