Tourist Guide Plant City
Plant City is a community covering an area of 26 square miles. It is a city in Hillsborough County, Florida. The city was named in the memory of the popular railroad developer Henry B. Plant. It was a large cotton center originally, but later with the plantation of strawberries, it became known as the Winter Strawberry Capital of the World. The 2000 census showed the existence of 29,915 people in the city. The racial mix constituted 71.67%25 White, 16.16%25African American and the rest a blend of minor races. The city is mainly composed of citrus groves, strawberry fields, nursery farms and pasture lands. It hosts the annual Strawberry Festival during the month of February/March and is attended by people of local origin and people from national and international regions. It possesses a light, sub tropical climate. The Plant City downtown region consists of a number of notable locations, shopping centers, lakes and parks that attracts a lot of tourists.
