Pompano Beach is a beautiful coastal city located in Broward County of Florida in the United States. The magnificent beaches along the coastal line of the Atlantic Ocean are located in the northern part of the city.
The Hillsboro Inlet, which is a part of Atlantic Intracoastal Waterways, is situated near Pompano Beach city. The city is currently working on the development of the neglected beachfronts. This beach area is the peak attraction in the city. Development of the beach area will encourage tourism in the city.
As per the census of 2006, the city is home to over 104,355. The city was settled in 1900 and was incorporated in 1908 as a town. The city is named after the famous Floridian fish called, Pompano. This fish is found in large quantities along the Atlantic Coast near the city.
Pompano Beach is surrounded by various beach towns and cities like, Hillsboro Beach, Lighthouse Point, Deerfield Beach, Coconut Creek and Fort Lauderdale. The place gets hot during summer while winters are milder than summers.
