South Beach is a neighborhood in Miami Beach city in Florida. It is directly situated to the south side of the Indian Creek and has southernmost 23 blocks of the main barrier island. This area was the first section of Miami Beach which got developed in 1910s.
This beautiful area started as farmland and was named by Henry and Charles Lum’s daughter Taylor as South Beach. The couple had bought 165 acres of land for coconut farming at that time in 1870.
The population grew in the 1920s and many millionaires built homes in this town. By 1940, the population reached 28,000.
As far as climate is concerned, the town gets 51 inches of rainfall each year. The sun is warm most of the days with blue sky. This is a tropical haven by the day and the city comes alive at sunset. It gets measurable precipitation of 123 days. On average, it has 233 sunny days each year. The July month is the warmest month with 90 degrees and January is the coldest month with 53 degrees.
