Tourist Guide St Petersburg

Situated in Pinellas County in Florida, USA, the city of St Petersburg is located between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. It covers an area of 344.7 sq km and has a population of around 250,000.

Known as ‘Florida’s Sunshine City’, the city receives sunlight for the longest consecutive number of days. The average summer temperature is around 27°C, while in winter the average temperature is around 15°C.

Founded by John Williams and Peter Demens in 1888, it was incorporated as a city in 1892. This port city with a large harbour has grown into a popular winter resort.

The city attracts a large number of tourists each year, and as such, the economy depends heavily on tourism.
