Venice with a population of 17,764 is a city in Sarasota County in Florida. Venice is very much known today, for its friendly small-town feel. Its racial make-up consists of 98.14%25 Whites, 0.55%25 African American and the rest are other races. About 3.7%25 of the families and 5.7%25 of the population remained under the poverty line. At the center of Venice, is the Downtown Historic District that blends the best of the past and present while posing a modern look. Venice a water wonderland, possess Gulf, bays and other waterways and hence provide opportunities for fishing, surfing, swimming and boating. In addition to its beautiful beaches, Venice Avenue located in the main street is most ideal site for craft shows, art programs, concerts and for other special events. The city and neighborhood is full of green spaces and parks. Every August thousands of tourists arrive at Venice to enjoy its waterfronts with community wide sea food and shark Tooth Festival. Venice has a moderate temperature throughout the year and hence becomes an ideal spot for tourists round the year.
