In 1929 McKee botanical jungle gardens was founded in an 80-acre tropical small hill. Native vegetation was supported with seeds around the world and ornamental plants. He assembled the best collection of water lilies and orchids. By 1940 almost one lakh tourists visited the garden. The garden has received many outstanding rewards. It has been included in the National Register of Historic Places. It is also a historic Florida landmark.
