Wildwood city is situated in Sumter County in Florida. It is believed to have been founded in 1877 by I.E. Barwick.

juncture of State Road 44, US Highway 301, Turnpike of Florida and Interstate 75. As it is centrally located, it is easily
accessible to both the coasts, and is known as the Crossroads of Florida.
