Zolfo Springs is a small town located in Hardee County, Florida, US. The first settler was David D. Mahan who settled in 1878. The name “Zolfo” means sulfur in Italian and this name was given to the place since the springs smelled of Sulfur. 

As per the 2004 US census bureau, town population showed 1,659 people. The total population area as per the 2009 US census was recorded to be 1,758 and since 2000 the growth of population was recorded to be 2.74 percent.

The total area of the place is 1.5 square kilometers, all of it to be land.
