Downtown Athens is known as an area which is bounded on the north by Prince Avenue, North Avenue and Dougherty Street. It is also the commercial and governmental heart of the city of Athens that has been traditionally toward the east end of Downtown Athens. Recent developments at this neighborhood include the Pulaski Street and the Lumpkin Street. Downtown Athens can also mean smaller and more commercial area which is used especially for nightlife and restaurants. And yes, there are total 96 bars here which make it the town with most bars per square mile. It is famous neighborhood for numerous hotels.
