As per US Census Bureau, this city’s total area is 38.3 sq. Km; out of which 38.2 sq. Km consists of land. In a bid of hosting the ‘lunch stop’ on novel ‘Atlanta and Richmond Air Line Railway’, the town was named ‘Buford’ after the person who presided over it, i.e. ‘Algernon S. Buford’.
Buford has witnessed rapid growth in the last 5-6 years, basically due to ‘Mall of Georgia’ and proper ‘city school system’.
