Southeastern Railway Museum
Constructed in the year 1970, Southeastern Railway Museum goes on to display rolling stock, along with wooden cars, Pullmans, and steam locomotives. The responsibility of its operation rests with ‘Atlanta Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society’. This museum has obtained the recognition of a ‘non-profit organization for educational and historic purposes’. Almost 90% of the staff consists of volunteers. A gift shop has also been made available. Visitors can go on and ride in various restored cabooses that lie behind diesel or steam locomotives. The good news is that train rides have started complementing birthday parties, guided tours, etc. from January, 2009.
