The county seat of Grady County of Georgia in USA, Cairo with a population of 9,239 as per the US census is named after the city of Cairo in Egypt. Spread over 9.3 square miles of land, this place has a unique heritage of having been a producer of cane syrup in the early 1900 to late 1990s and is labeled as the Syrup City. The evidence of the name having become an integral part of the city is the athletic teams of the city being nicknamed the "Syrupmakers".

Cairo is great spot for the outdoor activities and also boasts of many places of historical interest. It also has its local cultural festivals notable among them being the Great Southern Antique Car Rally featuring antique cars and gaslight parades and the Rattlesnake Round-up which is a 35 year old festival highlight of the event being the Arts and Crafts, Snake Handling, Prizes to hunters and other delectable attractions.

Apart from that there are also recreation parks and ball fields.  A beautiful downtown and shopping centers offer a great shopping experience.
