Tourist Guide Dalton
Situated in Whitfield County in Georgia, USA, the city of Dalton is located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. It is spread over an area of 51.4 sq km and has a population of over 95,000.
Dalton has a mild, subtropical climate. In summer, the climate is warm with an average temperature of 27°C, while in winter the temperature is around 10°C.
Dalton has witnessed Civil War battles and is the home of Cherokee Indian sites. Formerly known as Cross Plains, the city changed its name to Dalton in honour of its founder, Edward Dalton White.
Known as the ‘Carpet capital of the world’, the city is the largest producer of carpets in the world. It has become a melting pot for entrepreneurs and experts. The growth of the city, garnered through the carpet industry and tourism, has significantly raised the quality of life of the people.
