Dawsonville can be referred to as a city located in ‘Dawson County, Georgia, US’. It’s also ‘county seat’ of ‘Dawson County’.

The name has been inspired from ‘William Crosby Dawson’, i.e. a military and political leader. The year 1859 had marked the discovery of Dawsonville.

As per US Census Bureau, the area on the whole is 5.0 sq. Km; everything out of which is land. Moreover, this community stands on junction of ‘State routes 53, 9, and 136’.

Dawsonville is known in terms of ‘auto racing circles’ with regards to its lengthy tradition to involve in this sport. Furthermore, the involvement in annual festival every October is precisely named as ‘Mountain Moonshine Festival’ by locals.

This place is home of Bill Elliott, one of the semi-retired drivers of NASCAR. He is better known as ‘Awesome Bill from Dawsonville’; as a homage to hometown.

As per 2000 census, population was ‘619’.
