Situated in Gwinnett County in Georgia, USA, the city of Duluth is located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River. Surrounded with hills and lush greenery, it covers an area of 22.8 sq km and has a population of around 22,000.
The city has a mild climate. Summers are hot and humid with an average temperature of 27°C and can be accompanied with thunderstorms. Snowfall is a rare occurrence in winter where the average temperature is around 8°C.
Duluth was originally a forest land inhabited by Cherokee Indians. The city is named after Daniel Greysolon Du Luth—a French captain and explorer.
