The city of Gainesville is located in the north central region of the Georgia state. Northern central means it is surrounded on all sides by other cities and does not enjoy the coastal stretch as the other cities do. The city is counted amongst the rare metropolitan cities in the state of Georgia. In fact it is one of the prime cities of the state. This city occupies a lot of area of the state and stretches to a far extent. The area count of the city is around 76 square km. The city is surrounded with the Blue Ridge Mountains. The population here as per the latest reports is around thirty five thousand (35,000). The city since ancient times is very well known for its poultry business. The climate in the city of Gainesville is very unpredictable. The summers in the city are very hot as compared to other cities in Georgia. The winters here are not so cold. But the people in the city experience a lot of climate change during winter as both the cold and warm fronts flow over the city in winter.
