Tourist Guide Helen
The gorgeous city of Helen is situated in White County in Georgia, USA. Located on the Chattahoochee River along the Blue Ridge Mountains, it covers an area of 5.5 sq km and has a population of over 500.
Helen has a very mild climate. The average temperature in summer is around 25°C, while in winter the temperature is around 2°C.
The area was home to the Cherokee Indians and later became a logging town until it was recreated to resemble an Alpine village in order to boost its economy. The city was named after the daughter of a railroad surveyor in 1813.
The Bavarian style of the town attracts many tourists each year, and as such, tourism is largest contributor to the economy.Explore map
