Situated in Cobb County in Georgia, USA, the city of Marietta is located at the foot of Mount Kennesaw and along the Chattahoochee River. It is spread over an area of 22 sq km and has a population of over 60,000.
The city has a mild climate. The average temperature in summer is round 26°C, while in winter the average temperature is around 5°C.
Established in 1834, Marietta was the originally home to Creek Indians. After its destruction in the Civil War, the town grew after new businesses moved in. The aircraft industry gave a boost to the town’s economy.
