Marietta’s most famous landmark is Glover Park. Donated to the city by John H Glover, Marietta’s first mayor, it is hub of all activities and festivals. It is situated in the city’s Town Square, which is lined with shops, boutiques, galleries, museums and cafes.
The Historic Strand Theatre is a must-visit to experience the cultural legacy of the city. The Marietta National and Marietta Confederate Cemeteries are the resting ground for several Civil War soldiers.
The Marietta Fire Museum features exhibits related to fire-fighting equipment that dates back to the late 1800s. The Marietta Museum of History provides a detailed account of the city’s past. The Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art and the Marietta Gone with the Wind Museum: Scarlett on the Square, are equally interesting.
