Tourist Guide Norcross
Situated in Gwinnett County in Georgia, USA, the city of Norcross is the second oldest city of the county. It covers an area of 10.6 sq km and has a population of around 10,000.
Known as ‘Atlanta’s Favourite Summer Resort’, the climate is pleasant in summer. Due to its higher elevation, the city enjoys a cooler climate as compared to other cities in Georgia.
Incorporated in 1870, the city was founded by JJ Thrasher and named after his friend, Jonathan Norcross. It grew into a resort town for the Atlanta elite after it became the first train stop going from Atlanta to Washington DC.
Coupled with picturesque locales and a quiet atmosphere, the city attracts a fair number of tourists. Its historic downtown area, with its Southern architecture and quaint streets give visitors a peak into the history and tradition of Norcross.Explore map
