The name ‘Ringgold’ has been derived from Samuel Ringgold, i.e. hero of ‘Battle of Palo Alto’ in US-Mexican War.
Ringgold holds the credit for being home to Ringgold Depot; which is an utmost significance; owing to possession of bullet marks dating to Civil War.
