One can get to travel to the city through the Savannah or the Hilton Head International Airport. This is located to the west of Savannah off Interstate 95. The Amtrak operates a passenger terminal at the city for the Siler Service and Palmetto trains. Chatham Area Transit provides the public transit throughout the region. The DOT system, which is the Downtown Transportation system, provides fare free transportation in the Historic District.
