Coastal Plain Research Arboretum had been established in the year 1987. Development and selection with regards to plant began in the year 1991. Georgian plant species native to Tifton are found over here. Existing collections include pine woods, and around 280 taxa relating to shrubs, trees, herbaceous plants, etc.
