When to visit

Planning when to take a break and opting to visit Georgia can be a worthwhile experience for any tourist. Whether one takes a family vacation or plans to participate in the tourism by visiting one of the many campgrounds in Georgia, a tourist can find that the best time to visit this state depends on what he would like to do once he is there.

Georgia has four distinct seasons, with each season having lots of outdoor activities and attractions. The spring is filled with bloomed azaleas, camellias and green dogwoods while the summer is entirely the peach season. Fall is an excellent time to visit Georgia too to see foliage and pecan harvest, with winters offering all to choose from snowfall in the north and mild temperature in the south.

The high season in Georgia is from March to May and from September to October. July to August is the low season while the shoulder season is from November to February and June.

With year round temperature of 60 degrees, spring and autumn are always the preferable time to visit this state due to its milder temperature. For those who want to avoid the crowds, they should avoid visiting Georgia in April and in October as these two months tend to be the most crowded time of the year. So, the months from November to February are the perfect time to visit for tourists who don’t like to wait on long queues.
