The Dixie Maru Beach is known as the Kapukahehu beach and is a gold sand family beach which is well protected. The reef of the beach is close and also shallow. The name, Dixie Maru comes from a 1920s Japanese fishing boat which is stranded off the rocky shore. The beach is famous among the local families. One can go for snorkeling and swimming at this beach.
