Though the city of Athol is extremely small in size, nature has blessed this small town with awesome greenery and beautiful scenarios. The city is surrounded with a small mountain range. There is a lake also called the Athol Lake located at the footsteps of the mountain. This lake is a major tourist attraction for the city of Athol. A lot of people from nearby cities and states come here for a small vacation or for fishing in this lake. The tributaries of the famous Columbia River flow through this city. The city has built parks along the course of these rivers. These parks are a perfect combination of a mixture of nature’s beauty and man made marvels. Such an awesome combination has led the city of Athol to get the name of the “City of Parks”. The city is also known for its green and plain agricultural land. As agriculture is the main occupation, the people here have no problem with food and earn their living by selling these agricultural goods in the neighboring cities and states.
