Tourist Guide Coeur d’Alene

Coeur d’Alene, known as the Lake City, is the seat and largest city of the Kootenai County in Idaho, USA. It lies on the banks of the glacier-formed Lake Coeur D’Alene.

The Spokane International Airport is around 48 km west of the city and has a good domestic coverage of flights. America’s national train service, Amtrak, is also stationed in Spokane.

Coeur D’Alene lies at an elevation of around 750 m above sea level and has an average summer temperature of 18°C. Temperatures in winter can be as low as –1°C. The city receives approximately 660 mm of rainfall every year.

Coeur D’Alene has a population of more than 35,000 people. It was recently honoured with the title of ‘An All American City’. A major economic activity of Coeur D’Alene is tourism, aided substantially by the many resorts that have sprung up in the area.
