The name ‘Garden City’ has been derived from gardens that had been raised by various Chinese immigrants (who resided in this area). Name of Main Street of the city, i.e. ‘Chinden Boulevard’, is a ‘portmanteau’ of two words. They are: ‘China’ and ‘Garden’.
This locality is a portion of ‘Boise City-Nampa’, Idaho Metropolitan Statistical Area.
