Idaho State Historical Museum
This museum was established in the year 1907. It’s Idaho’s most visited as well as the biggest museum. The evolution has taken place from an easy-going collection of relics and curios sitting on ‘shelves’. Moreover, it has been the first one to get accredited by ‘American Association of Museums’. Items which are on display in this museum go on to have told Idaho’s story; right from pre-historic times via gold rush, fur trade, pioneer settlement, etc. There also exist exhibits about Basque, Chinese, and Native American populations. This museum remains open between May and September from Tuesdays to Saturdays between 9:00 and 17:00; and on Sundays between 13:00 and 17:00. It remains closed on Mondays.
