Nampa is the largest city and the fastest growing city in Canyon County in Idaho. It is also the second largest city in US. Nampa is located 20 miles to the west of Boise along Interstate 84. This city is also known as a part of the Boise metropolitan area. This city began its life way back in the early 1880s as a small railroad town. This city was founded in 1886 by the Europeans. Later on, it was incorporated in the year 1890.
As per the 2000 census, the population of the city was 51,867. This city is also known as Idaho’s Banana Belt. The average temperature of the city is 64.4 degrees and having an average of annual precipitation of 11.7 inches. There are beautiful spring weather which is covered by blossoms on fruit trees and warm breezes. Though the temperatures soar on summer days, the warmth is pleasant due to the low humidity.
The historic roads of Nampa run perpendicular to the railroad tracks which travel northwest to southeast through the town. Thus, the north side is the northeast side of the tracks and the south side is the southwest side of the tracks.
