Rexburg is a city in Madison County in Idaho. This city is the county seat of Madison County. Rexburg is also the principal city of the Rexburg, ID Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Madison and Fremont counties. This city has a total area of 5.0 square miles, with 4.9 square miles of land and 0.1 square miles of water.
Most part of Rexburg along with nearby cities is on top of a shield volcano. Many types of volcanoes exist near this city. Sediment deposits enriched by the volcanism make the area famous for its production of large starch rich potatoes.
As per the 2000 census, Rexburg has a population of 17,257. Out of this, 4,274 were households and 2,393 were families residing in the city. The density population was 3,534.4 people for per square mile.
Rexburg is most often known as the “reddest place in America” as the area has a strong conservative of majority and political trends.
