Rigby is a small city in and the county seat of Jefferson County in Idaho. The population of the city in 2000 was 2,998.  Out of this, 1,051 are households and 789 are families residing in the city. The larger side of Rigby area includes some of the outlying unincorporated communities like Garfield, Annis, Labelle, Clark and Grant.  There are also other incorporated areas like the Lewisville, Ririe, Roberts and Menan. If the population was to be calculated keeping these communities in mind, then the population of Rigby would be above 5000.

A part of the Idaho Falls, Rigby is located directly between the 2 large Idaho cities, Idaho Falls and Rexburg. Due to this, the residents can enjoy all the choices of culture, shopping and entertainment. The neighboring towns are simply 15 minutes drive to the north and the south. As per the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square miles of land.
