Various festivals are the specialty of Salmon town. Salmon River Days takes place on the weekend of the fourth of July.

Sacajawea Heritage Day is celebrated in the 3rd week of August.

Lemhi County Historical Museum features exciting exhibits of Idaho history and also serves as an educational museum.

Sacajawea Cultural & Education Center is another prominent facility in the city. Salmon Golf Course offer competitive and exciting golf matches. A bowling alley, Salmon Strike Zone, provides fun for the whole family.

Salmon houses the Sacajawea Interpretive Culture and Education Center which focuses on the Shoshone culture of Lemhi and their interaction with other cultures. The Main Salmon River that flows through Idaho is amongst America's premier whitewater rafting rivers and various centers have been constructed for visitors who are interested in river-sports.
