Sandpoint is located on the northern end of Idaho, USA, along Lake Pend Oreille. This city is situated at the base of Selkirk Mountains and is surrounded by Cabinet Mountains in Bonner County.
The city was incorporated in 1898 and is now home to around 7,500 people. This region was initially inhabited by the Flathead Indians of Montana.
The landscape of Sandpoint is diverse; it is a combination of beautiful valleys, snow-capped mountains, pristine lakes and rivers and lush vegetation. The city is characterised by four distinct seasons with a moderate climate.
The average annual temperature is approximately 8°C. All this has made Sandpoint a popular tourist destination, and subsequently, tourism is the major contributor to its economy. Small businesses and the manufacturing industry are the other significant contributors to Sandpoint’s economy.
