Tourist Guide Wallace

Wallace is a historic city in the Panhandle region of the US state of Idaho. It is also the county seat of Shoshone County in the Silver Valley mining district. Wallace is also the principal town of the Coeur d’Alene silver mining district. This town produced more silver than any other mining district in US.

With silver prices reaching high, Wallace and the surrounding Silver Valley area are booming. The East side of Wallace and the Lookout Pass ski area are quite popular with the tourists and the locals.

As per the 2000 census, the population of the town was 960. Out of this, there were 427 households and 237 families residing in the city. In 1890, this town was the largest city and the third largest in the state with around 2000 residents. As per the United States Census Bureau, this city has a total area of 0.9 square miles of land. Every building in downtown Wallace is on the National Register of Historic Places.
