When to visit
The best time to visit Idaho is during the spring time and the summer time when one can enjoy different backcountry adventures. This is also the season when flowers and wildlife are plentiful and when fishing and outdoor recreational activities are at their high peak in Idaho. Known as the Gem of the mountains or the Gem State, Idaho is famous for the unspoiled mountains of the coniferous pines to the north of the state. Holidays like the President’s Day in the ski areas and the Memorial Day and the Independence Day in the summer attracts millions of tourists. The winter season is the least preferable time for the tourists with the exception skiers and snow sports enthusiasts. Another good time to see Idaho is fall as this time; the weather is mild, with fewer visitors. The high season is from mid May to September and late November to mid March. The shoulder season is from late March to mid May and from October to mid November.
