The present-day Berwyn had been fairly marshy previously. Glaciers receded; which led to formation of giant water body called ‘Ancient Lake Chicago’. Lake Michigan was formed after shrinking of this lake. Thereafter, a stream got formed which linked this lake to ‘Illinois River’. It was known as Mud Lake. Further extension formed Berwyn’s southern border.
According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Berwyn was reported to be 54016; with its density being 5361.4 per sq. Km. Median income with regards to a household was calculated to be $43833; whereas that with respect to a family was found to be $51767.
