Berwyn can be described as a city located in county of Cook, Illinois, US. In the year 2008, this city went on to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
As per US Census Bureau, area of Berwyn on the whole comes out to be 10.1 sq. Km (all land). Climate is quite pleasant. Summer season would prove to be the best one to pay a visit.
The present-day Berwyn had been fairly marshy previously. Glaciers receded; which led to formation of giant water body called ‘Ancient Lake Chicago’. Lake Michigan was formed after shrinking of this lake. Thereafter, a stream got formed which linked this lake to ‘Illinois River’. It was known as Mud Lake. Further extension formed Berwyn’s southern border.
According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Berwyn was reported to be 54016; with its density being 5361.4 per sq. Km. Median income with regards to a household was calculated to be $43833; whereas that with respect to a family was found to be $51767. Around 7.9%25 of total population was observed to be below poverty line; inclusive of 9.8%25 of the ones below 18 years of age; and around 7.2%25 of the ones beyond 65 years of age.
