Incorporated in 1974, the Calumet City Historical Society Museum has on display artifacts and memorabilia marking the history of Calumet City. Most of the articles on display was found in the 158th St and Paxton and indicate the presence of a prehistoric Indian site located here. These relics provide a glimpse into the lives of the earliest inhabitants of the place who were semi nomads and used the trails to migrate to places with warmer climate.
