Not to miss:  The Boardman's Art Theatre and Historic Virginia Theatre are the two well known entertainment venues that are often admired by the locals and tourists alike. The theatres schedule special screenings and live performances each month. Early American Museum features exhibits of decorative arts, architecture, trades and occupations and domestic life while the Orpheum Children's Science Museum gives exciting opportunity for children ... More of all ages to learn science in an informal setting. Bondville and Tolono are the villages located near the city of Champaign that are known for their rich historical culture. The National Science Olympiad Tournament held in 2005, attracted young scientists from over 50 states. The city is also known to host the state Science Olympiad competition every year.

General opinion:  The city of Champaign is located in Champaign County in the state of Illinois, USA. Originally called ‘West Urbana’, the city was renamed in 1860. Established in 1852, Champaign has a twin city, Urbana. Champaign, Urbana, and the village of Savoy together form part of the Champaign-Urbana Metropolitan Area.
Colonised by the French and the British, this area and its surroundings were handed to the USA in the late eighteenth century. This region has a rich history with African-American migration taking place in the nineteenth century.
The annual average temperature ... More is around 18°C. It is best to avoid travel between the months of November and February, when the temperature touches around –5°C.
With a population of around 67,500, most locals are engaged in commerce and industry. The city features several technology firms and research institutes.
