Metra is officially known as the Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corporation. This is a regional rail system which serves the Chicago city and its surrounding suburbs. Its railroad serves more than 200 stations on 11 different rail lines across the Regional Transportation Authority’s six county service area. In annual basis, it provides over 80 million rides.
