Chicago Midway International Airport, also known as Midway airport, is situated in the southwest region of Chicago in Illinois in USA.
The airport is run by the Chicago Airport System and is used by low cost carriers and legacy carriers such as Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines, AirTran Airways and Northwest Airlines.
It is the 2nd largest and the 2nd busiest airport in Chicago and handles passenger traffic of more than 19 million.
The airport covers a total area of 320 acres and at present has 5 operating runways. The airport has train facilities provided by the Chicago Transit Authority’s L trains and has rapid transit trains which passengers can take to the terminal.
The airport has recently had a facelift with expanded ticket counters, more restaurants and shops, spacious airline gates, baggage carts, ATM services, Business services, medical services, internet access and more.
